My Philosophy

Design that feels human

I believe in projects that are more than functional, they're experiences. Every design conveys emotion, tells a story, and leaves a mark.

  • Perfectionism is not rigidity, it's love for detail.
  • Organization is not control, it's flow.
  • Creativity is not chaos, it's freedom with purpose.

My journey

  1. Drawn to art

Growing up in Mexico, I was always the kid with the markers. Summer craft courses, painting classes, drawing. Lately I've picked up oils and acrylics again. Some things never leave you.

  2. 2015 – 2018

    My design awakening

I studied graphic design at Universidad Cuauhtémoc in Querétaro, México and took a UX/UI online course at Coderhouse (a school in Argentina).

  3. 2019 – 2020

    Working with mentors

va! diseño was my first agency job, with an incredible boss and colleagues who became friends I still talk to. I learned so much there, especially about human connection and what healthy work relationships look like.

  4. 2023

    Moving to Canada

My husband and I moved here chasing nature. He wanted mountain biking; I wanted the experience of living in another country, learning about myself and my surroundings at the same time. Once here, I studied Business Administration at Okanagan College — not to change careers, but to build my own freelance path.

  5. 2024 – present

    Where I landed

Before we even moved, I was browsing agencies from Mexico, saw Hiilite, and said "I'm going to work there." And I did — I'm still there. We're not competition: there, we work with big-budget clients; at bymont, I focus on smaller projects with soul and a sense of community.

  6. Getting my hands dirty

Ceramics is a whole different world that feeds my creativity. It calms me, teaches me patience, and keeps my feet in the ground (literally).

  7. Time for my own space

I always wanted my own website and my own freelance work. bymont is that, plus room to explore my creative side: pottery, merch, and many other projects to come, because staying still isn't really my thing.
